The Cavaglieri Suite

Sitting room, Cavaglieri Suite

Mario Cavaglieri and his beloved wife, Giulietta, moved to Peyloubère from their home in northern Italy in 1925. Not content with the rustic character of her new home, Giulietta moved into the Hotel de France in Auch and challenged her husband to make Peyloubère ‘a little corner of Italy’. Six months later she returned to frescoed ceilings and painted furniture, today enjoyed by guests to the Cavaglieri Suite. With roman legends in the bedroom, naiads and dryads in the bathroom and myths of ancient Greece in the sitting room, the suite provides exceptional accommodation with a double aspect overlooking the rosegarden on one side and the river Gers and its waterfall on the other.
