History

Domaine de Peyloubère, located near Auch in the Gers region of France, is a historic estate with significant cultural and artistic heritage. Covering 15 hectares of gardens, woodland, and lakes, the property once served as the home of the Italian painter Mario Cavaglieri from 1925 until his death in 1969. Cavaglieri's artistic influence is evident in the estate’s frescoed ceilings, painted cupboards, and an Italianate garden, reflecting a blend of Gascon charm and Mediterranean aesthetics.

The estate has been recognized as a Monument Historique due to its connection to Cavaglieri, a celebrated figure in 20th-century art, whose works have been showcased in renowned exhibitions in Paris, Italy, and beyond. During its history, the Domaine de Peyloubère also endured challenges, including a forced sale during World War II, but Cavaglieri reacquired and restored it after returning to France. Today, the property retains its serene and bohemian ambiance.
